IT TAKES A SYSTEM.
The SystemSix truly takes a uniqueapproach to aerodynamic optimised bike design. Cannondale's holistic approachto speed represents the pinnacle of what a race bike designed from the groundup can really deliver. The entire SystemSix project began with a quest todesign the fastest wheel possible for modern tyre volumes. Cannondale builtfrom there, developing the frame, fork, seatpost, bars, stem and wheelstogether as a complete speed system, taking full advantage of disc-onlyoptimisation. Frame tube profiles were tailored to control airflow at everypoint. A bar/stem combo was developed that delivers speed without forgoing thefit, yielding the most positive wind tunnel data ever seen, all within UCIlimits.
THE FOUNDATION OF FAST.
The SystemSix frame and fork are therock upon which speed is built. Every tube shape is engineered to be as immuneto drag as possible. Purposeful asymmetry has been applied for instant responseto disc brake and pedalling loads. The geometry derived from Cannondale's goldstandard EVO delivers impeccable handling and a classic road race feel. Scoresof refined details are designed to speed you up and not let you down.
OPTIMISED AGAINST EVERY ASPECT OFDRAG.
Foiling Drag. Every section of the frame and fork feature tailored airfoilprofiles, with differing degrees of truncation designed to maintain flowattachment across important yaw angles and mininise drag.
The Chine. The unique chine shape at the base of the headtube redirectsair flow coming up the back of the fork leg, channeling it downstream. Thisprevents the fork's airflow from mixing with the wake of the head tube andinterrupting clean air over the fork crown.
Sleek as Fork. Freed from the constraints of rim brakes, the fork crownarea is radically different from traditional road bikes. The fork has beensleekly integrated with the frame for minimal drag. A larger opening has beenadapted for bigger tyres and cleaner airflow whilst asymmetric legs have beenapplied for handling disc brake loads.
System of Control. The KNOT SystemBar is a slick piece of speed wizardry,providing the low drag and sleek look of a one-piece bar and stem, with thecustomisable adjustability of a two-piece system. The carbon bar features afull 8 degree of pitch adjust, so you can dial in your perfect position. Therounded truncated airfoil shape of the flat section not only maintainsconsistent airflow throughout the pitch range, it's also way comfier on yourhands than the sharp trailing edge of other aero bars.
In addition to giving the bars aplace to perch; the mating System Stem routes brake and Di2 lines cleanly intothe headtube via a channel underneath a mechanic-friendly removable cover.Shape-matched gated spacers allow you to easily adjust the stem's stack height,without having to disconnect cables. Fast and easy, just how you like it.
The Most Post. It's a common misconception that seatposts are insignificantto performance. In actuality, the airflow in this region is significantlyfaster than the clean air at the front of the bike, due to the flowaccelerating between the rider's legs. The truncated airfoil shape of theSystemSix post is a big part of the world's fastest speed result.
Faster Up. The SystemSix's aerodynamic advantage make it fasterthan lightweight climbing bikes on any climb up to a 6% gradient or more,depending on rider's power to weight. Most revered HC climbs in the Tour onlyaverage 7-8%.
Faster Down. Descending a 5% grade at 60kph, a rider on a modernlightweight race bike would need to expend over 300W to match a rider pedallingat a 200W recovery pace on a SystemSix. So, SystemSix riders can truly recoverwhile going faster.
Faster on the Flats. Compared to a modern lightweight race bike, at 48kph(30mph), SystemSix saves you over 50W - huge savings considering an average Cat1 racer's Functional Threshold Power is around 350W. Even when drafting, you'llstill get up to 60% of that benefit, even if you're not up on watts. That'smore than enough to notice.
Faster in the Sprint. In a 200m sprint at 60kph, all other things being equal,SystemSix will beat a modern lightweight race bike to the line by four fullbike lengths.
Every Day Faster. Even at an easy 30kph (18mph) group ride pace, SystemSixrequires about 10% less power to maintain speed, leaving you with more in thetank when it's time to throw down.
